Vecchie letrose (“old hags”) is a polyphonic song composed by Adrian Willaert. This version is written for recorder quartet, the tenor part can also be played by an alto recorder.

A la caça, sus a la caça, from the Cancionero de Palacio

This piece is a part of the Cancionero de Palacio, also called Cancionero de Barbieri, a spanish manuscript that contains more than 400 polyphonic songs.
We know nothing about this composer “Luchas”.
The lyrics are about love and use a lot of metaphor with “to hunt for love”.

Study n°27 by Franz Wilhem Ferling

Franz Wilhem Ferling was a german oboist and composer, mostly knowed for his oboe exercices. The 27th study is an aria, and it has been transcribed for alto recorder.
This ‘not so difficult’ study – although not for beginners – is perfect to introduce the style of the 19th.
